I appreciate these adages of wise leadership, four principles that are not intuitive to effective leadership:
- Talk to them about them.
- Gain power by empowering.
- Join their team before they join your team.
- Talk less, listen more, and others will listen to you.
What can be painful and deeply frustrating is when one deploys these tactfully and vigorously to no effect. The means by which these can fail, especially if there was already agreement in regards to stated vision, is only when there is a contrary agenda that was hidden and intentionally frustrated the goals of teambuilding.
