One Thing update

Got back from One Thing at 3:15am or so on Monday morning... whew. On Monday I quickly descended into a pretty deep illness (actually, both Caryn and I)... a chest cough that was deep and would not let go.  I was literally in bed all day yesterday.  Whatever it is that I'm fighting, its one tough bug.  Pray for us, please.

As a quick update on the time in Kansas City, it was terrific to see so many friends and to have some time to catch up with them.  The weather, until the last day or so, was even mild.  One take-away I have to describe here is what it was like during the worship sessions with 28,000+ in the same room.  We sat in the back quarter of the auditorium where typically you might expect people to not be as engaged with the things going on up front... but it was not the case at all from what I could see.  The worship at the back of the hall was intense and joyful and as focused as you could ever hope to find.  To me, this bodes well for the worshipping prayer movement.... there are many who are invested emotionally and are giving themselves fully to it, as best as they can: truck drivers, mothers with 3-year-olds, and on and on. There's a soundness and maturity to the Body of Christ that struck me as discernable for those who came together last week.

Here's a brief video I took, as an example:
