As for me: I will dwell in the House of God forever. (Psa. 23:6) Forever.

Growth in prayer, part 2
I've posted the second article from my previous blog on growth in prayer. Here is part of the article:
Continuing to examine Teresa of Avila's biography and writing on the Christian's life in prayer (cf. Thomas Dubay, "Fire Within"), it becomes clear that she sees growth in prayer as a process. In no regard does she presume to derive a formula for spiritual maturation. However, like many aspects of life, there are discernible stages that are common to those who are committed to growing into Christ. From the revelation she experienced from God and out of her examination of the scriptures, Teresa emphasized that progression was possible and transitions were gradual rather than abrupt jumps from one stage to another. These points of arrival were what she described as seven mansions, each progressively building towards immersion in the pure and perfect beauty of God.

Amazon's bible store
I did not know until today that Amazon.com had a bible bookstore. Find it here: http://www.amazon.com/Bible-Store-Books/b?ie=UTF8&node=10405901
Update
Matthew and I got over to Adam's house in time for Gun Club at 8AM. The excursion over to the Ford Dealership on Gold Hill Road is simply a sensation beyond description: about 8 guys or so running out to load up on carbs and saturated fats that are cooked at a restaurant in the middle of a car shop. Some of us were pretty tanked after being up late to tweak on the OneThing web stream projection for the ZHOP prayer room, also some were up late and early working on signage to help sojourners find the prayer room. We're going to also try to project MorningStar's New Years conference in the prayer room today as well, should be an overload of prophetic movements.
I thought the format for OneThing was very good, Dewayne Roberts brought a glowing word that articulated the OneThing mandate well and complimented Mike Bickle's preaching. The broadcast, FYI, is available via the IHOP web site or is free at night via the God.TV web site (both at 8PM EST).

Growth in prayer, part 1
I am keenly aware of God's jealousy for the EZ37 internship beginning next month. I can feel it, Holy Spirit is eager to lead these coming further into His heart and the reality of His kingdom. Pray for us as we continue to prepare, it appears we'll have somewhere between 10 and 20 people for the first 3 month track that begins on January 11.
Some months back, after reading Thomas Dubay's book 'Fire Within' on Teresa of Avila and St. John of the Cross I began to break it down into smaller readings in language that was not so bound in Roman Catholic terminology. I got a handful of articles done and never finished, but I'm going to re-publish them on Google docs so that they are available for reference again and not lost after changing blog hosts recently. I was recently speaking with one of the ZHOP staff in regards to a personal struggle they were having and this article proved to be helpful. Here is part of the first article, my reaction to Dubay's book:
Here I want to briefly outlay some of her perspective on how growth in prayer is possible. Teresa stands out in the tides of Church history as one of whom it was said that she "... enjoyed God so much that what did not pertain to God tasted bitter to her." Be encouraged, sojourners, for it needs to be said that it is possible to advance in prayer and that there are discernible stages in such growth. We need not be blindly stumbling through the spritual darkness and hostility that has arrested fallen creation. Knowing how to progress in prayer can be the difference between accomplishing deep transforming union with the Triune God or abandoning spiritual pursuits altogether.
Beatific vision is a lofty term, defined by Merriam-Webster's dictionary as "the direct knowledge of God enjoyed by the blessed in heaven". Allow yourself to consider as such the testimonies of numerous saints who have found that God loves us so much that "... when He finds us open and ready, He cannot refrain from filling us to the extent that we are emptied," (c.f. Dubay). If we push away from the table of the world, the fleeting pleasures that it offers and the vain promises it makes, and instead tack our course day by day towards the discovery of God then we will declare that God's name is actually "Wonderful"; and Jesus' promise of John 14:21 will be realized: "Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him".

Call to prayer
Carling Harding of the Chichester UK boiler room writes this:
It really doesn’t matter what you call yourself or how you do it, as long as you give Jesus the chance to change you through prayer. We’re not the only regiment in the army; prayer is rising on the agenda of the Global church. Whatever the bucket, be it 24-7 Prayer, IHOP, Jericho Walls or the Global Day of Prayer; the key is what it contains. For our family, bursts or rhythms of night and day prayer in creative environments have helped us to pray. For others their tools may look different but who they are speaking to is the same.I feel like God is calling 24-7 back to talking with Him, waiting on Him. Let's remember that we are "24-7 Prayer" not "24-7 Prayer Rooms". Prayer Rooms are a great bucket, but the container in and of itself is not sacred. Don’t fall into the trap of believing that a quarterly 24-7 week takes care of the prayer in our lives.

Signs in the heavens
There is a very interesting article at MSNBC's web site on the potential sources of the star of Bethlehem, read it here: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3077385.
Signs in the heavens still occur. In 1604 there was a supernova explosion that appeared that was visible to the unaided eye. There is some speculation that this was the event that piqued Galileo into discovering the telescope. It was also a sign in the heavens of the King James bible being published 7 years later.
On the night of February 23, 1987 astronomers saw something they hadn't seen for 400 years...a supernova explosion close enough to be seen with the naked eye. A massive "blue giant" star, 50 times as large as our sun, had exploded in the Large Magellenic Cloud (a small suburb of our galaxy). Shortly after its explosion its luminousity increased by a factor of 100 million. This event was tagged as SN1987A and was on the cover of time magazine on March 23, 1987.
